My Story
Hello and welcome to my site. My name is Melissa Keil, I am a DONA Certified Birth Doula and a Certified Postpartum Doula through Child Birth International. I am also a Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, Birth Photographer and an aspiring Midwife. I am 39 years old, a Christian, a wife and a very proud mother of three wonderful children. I excitedly and with passion teach childbirth education classes to prepare you for your birth. I attend hospital births, home births and birth center births.
My message is this, I believe in supporting women and thier partners during one of the absolute most precious and fond memories of thier life time and that it is essential. I also believe labor and birth do not have to be unbearably painful. I had a nearly painless all natural childbirth with my third Son in 2011. A woman just needs to be prepared, educated and supported. This process begins with childbirth education all the way through the birthing process.
I recognize the importance of this experience that the Mother and Father will remember all of their lives. I understand the needs of a woman in labor as I have been there three times myself. I have given birth all naturally with no pain medication what so ever so I know first hand what a laboring woman is going through and what she needs. I also have extensive training through many reputable organizations (listed below). I assist in preparing and carrying out the womans wishes for her personalized birth.
I am a Certified Postpartum Doula through Childbirth International (CBI) and an Affiliated Bradley Instructor in which I teach my fun and informative childbirth classes. I am also a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and a birth and maternity photographer. I work closely with other professionals at LaLeche League, local Midwives, Chiropractors, Accupuncture Professionals and other wonderful Birth Professionals who have the same passion. I am happy to provide referrals in any of these categories.
I am consistantly educating myself with the most current information, training and continuing CEU'S on pregnancy, birth, breast feeding etc. My education is on going and always will be as I love to learn and stay up to date on the current information for the benefit my clients.
Most importantly this is my passion. My goal is to carry out the wishes for the mother and her partner for thier baby's birth.
